This week Manchester’s Lowry Hotel, part of the prestigious Rocco Forte Collection, has announced that its Executive Head Chef Eyck Zimmer will be leaving The Lowry Hotel in June 2008 for pastures new overseas.

Helping to raise the profile of dining in Manchester on a national and local level Eyck and his brigade have won numerous awards including Restaurant of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival and National Chef of the Year.
Jason Harding, General Manager of The Lowry Hotel commented “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Eyck Zimmer for his ongoing contribution to ongoing success of The Lowry Hotel we always knew Eyck would be leaving us at some point in 2007 to have him with us for a longer period of time has been an additional bonus, we all obviously wish Eyck the very best of success for the future and know we will remain in contact. We have a number of option in terms of a replacement which we are currently exploring and hope to be in the position to announce in the not too distant future”.
Eyck Zimmer, Executive Head Chef at The Lowry Hotel commented “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time both here at The Lowry Hotel and Manchester, and had planned to leave to continue my career overseas much earlier. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sir Rocco, Jason and the team at The Lowry Hotel all of whom have supported me during my time in Manchester. I am confident that my brigade will continue to provide high quality food people have been accustomed to and will be actively involved in looking for my replacement”.
