Our Autumn-Winter A La Carte menu has arrived… and oh, it is marvelous. 

Savour elegant French cuisine with a contemporary flair at The River Restaurant for all your special Autumn-Winter occasions. Ranging from rich, tender pork cheek starters, a traditional Roscoff onion tart, to Mushroom Forestier with Gruyere, Black Garlic, and Brioche. Delectable main courses including Fillet of Icelandic Cod to Dry Aged British Duck Breast are among the highlights of the brand-new seasonal menu at The River Restaurant, which offers peaceful views of the River Irwell and the vibrant city of Manchester. 

This unforgettable dining experience has been designed by Executive Head Chef Bartosz Szynaka, who fuses creative international flavours with classic French cooking methods. From Bartosz’s expansive experience, his expertise and craft are what makes The River Resturant the culinary destination it is.

Bartosz’s incredible innovative style and blend of old-meets-new flair shines through in all of his dishes, with his immense passion and dedication, Bartosz always strives to deliver the best of the best. This is why The River Restaurant has earned the coveted two AA Rosette awards for its superb fusion of traditional and modern culinary techniques. 

The very best quality seasonal ingredients were at the centre of the Autumn-Winter menu, to create standout dishes like the Chicken Rillettes starter, garnished with salsify in chamomile butter, fresh kohlrabi brunoise, and swede dressed in green oil with chives. 

Other French-inspired starters include flambéed pork cheek, roasted celeriac millefeuille, and mushroom forrestier, all expertly prepared with the finest ingredients, from delicately layered roasted celeriac to foraged wild mushrooms.

For the main courses, the Duck Breast dish is elegantly complemented by shiitake mushrooms, both pickled and crisped, along with Jerusalem artichoke and shiitake ketchup, creating a comforting and umami-rich profile. The delectable Scottish Venison Loin with  Leek, Squash, Aubergine, and Beetroot Bourguignon Barley, with Carrot, Potato, and Vegan Jus, is definitely not to be missed. 

Now for the deserts… 

To finish your superb night, indulge in decadent desserts like the Sticky Date Cake infused with banana rum and topped with a crispy brandy snap. For chocolate lovers, the Valrhona Manjari Chocolate paired with an espresso crème brûlée and malted milk offers a luxurious, satisfying finale to a remarkable dining experience. It really doesn’t get better than that…
