THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the business's owners, you will have an extraordinary opportunity to positively impact our hotel's future while fostering business success, improving the environment, and supporting a group of driven individuals to realise their full potential. You will be responsible in strengthening and developing our staff through establishing a culture that encourages collaboration and continuous learning. To make sure each member of the team has the resources and support they require to achieve success in what they do and contribute to our shared values, through your mentorship and direction.

Additionally, through strategic planning and execution, you'll be instrumental in promoting business growth and profitability. You'll examine market trends, spot chances for growth and innovation, and formulate plans of action. Whether it's increasing operational effectiveness, boosting revenue streams, or raising guest satisfaction, you'll take the lead to make sure our hotel stays at the forefront of a competitive sector.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate would possess effective managerial skills in the hospitality sector. You should be confident setting priorities and planning your workload, giving your team clear guidance, and determining the need for additional training as needed. It will be the responsibility of you to provide precise business forecasts and efficient cost controls based on specified spending caps and profit margins. You'll be well-versed in employment laws and regulations, as well as safety and health.

 

It is imperative that the General Manager can motivate their team while specializing in exceptional guest satisfaction. We are seeking someone focused, who can confidently enforce the excellence of 5 star hotel standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with the hotel standards.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Excellent knowledge of the Manchester market
  • Previous experience within a similar property at General Manager level
  • A strong focus on F&B in particular restaurant and bar
  • Strong commercial acumen in a competitive market

Casual F&B Assistant

Vacancy

As part of the food and beverage team you will be working with a British Classic Menu that it is influenced by locally sourced produce. As a Food and Beverage Assistant you will work in the River Restaurant, Lowry Lounge and Bar and Room Service department for The Lowry Hotel. The River Restaurant has been commended with 2 AA rosettes and aims to provide contemporary surroundings with fine dining in a relaxed setting. Live entertainment is provided most evenings and during Sunday lunch.

The role involves greeting and seating guests, taking orders, advising on menu choices, delivering and presenting food and beverages in the restaurant, bar and room service departments, receiving payments and delivering a high level of personalised and professional service amongst other duties. You will be part of a team of 35 working together to ensure all guests receive the highest level of service delivery and following the hotel standards.

The ideal candidate will preferably have previous food and beverage experience, excellent customer care and social skills, be able to work using their own initiative and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.

The role is on a casual basis and will also involve working at weekends and may involve early starts and late finishes.

You will report directly to the Executive Chef and be part of a team of 20 plus. The role involves assisting in the preparation of items ensuring the high standard of quality food and presentation at all time.

If you are eager to gain experience and development in a busy, quality kitchen then this role is for you. In return for your hard work and commitment to learning, you will be rewarded not only financially but also through the sharing of knowledge from top chefs.

Ideally you should have gained your NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in food prep however if you have not yet gained that, we can provide NVQ training. We also require you to have some previous experience in a busy kitchen environment and show a willingness to learn.

Flexibility in this role is essential as the hours of work are on a shift basis including weekends, early & late shift.

You will report directly to the Executive Chef and be part of a team of 20 plus. The role involves assisting in the preparation of items ensuring the high standard of quality food and presentation at all time. To ensure high standards of cuisine are always met. Strong candidates will have the desire to be trained to cover other sections of the kitchen as instructed by the Head Chef and leadership team. If you are eager to gain experience and development in a busy, quality kitchen then this role is for you. In return for your hard work and commitment to learning, you will be rewarded not only financially but also through the sharing of knowledge from top chefs. This is a full time role with the tuition from an external Apprentice provider.

Flexibility in this role is essential as the hours of work are on a shift basis including weekends, early & late shift. Experience working within a busy kitchen in the same or a similar role is desirable but not essential, although it would be advantageous for this to have been in a hotel kitchen. Most of all we are looking for someone with a real passion for food and the drive to succeed in a new role.
